The winner of the Sorrento Creative Writing Prize is Dr Lauren Thomasse from Hobart, Tasmania. She works part-time and parents two small children full-time. Lauren is an experienced educator with a PhD in resilience.

Second Prize Winner

The second prize winner for the Sorrento Creative Writing Prize is Steve Rogers from Rye, Victoria. He is a Recruitment Consultant and started writing short stories four years ago. Steve is currently writing a science fantasy novel.

The Sorrento Creative Writing Prize is open to Australian Citizens or residents aged 18 and over, who have not had their work published by a commercial publisher.

This prize celebrates the annual Sorrento Writers Festival and its mission to bring writers and readers together.
